ICP Filing Lookup
Check whether a domain has an ICP filing in China and view its filing number, registrant, entity type and approval date.
FAQ
An ICP filing (ICP 备案) is the record a website operator in mainland China must obtain from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) before hosting a site on a domestic server. The filing number is usually shown in the website footer.
The filing number identifies the website, while the entity filing number identifies the registrant. The registrant, entity type and approval date come from the MIIT record. A domain can have more than one record, for example when different subdomains have separate filings.
Lookups prefer the primary MIIT filing proxy and automatically fall back to a secondary provider when the primary is unavailable. The result shows which source was used. Both sources read the public MIIT filing records.
The domain may not be filed, may be registered outside mainland China, or its filing may have been cancelled. New filings can also take a short time to appear. Use the MIIT link in the result to verify the latest status.
Only suffixes approved by the MIIT can be filed in mainland China. The list currently contains 171 suffixes, including .com, .cn, .net, .top, .xyz and Chinese suffixes such as .中国 and .公司. Suffixes such as .org, .io and .us are not on the list and are rejected.
Filed results are cached for 7 days and unfiled results for 24 hours. Cache hits are instant and do not consume your quota. The result shows the query time and the data source.
Each IP can make 20 new lookups per day. The quota resets at 00:00 UTC+8. Cached results are not counted. Company information lookups have a separate third-party quota of 5 per day per IP.
Company information is not requested by default. When you click "Get company info", the company name is sent to a third-party enterprise information service. The request also includes standard browser request information such as your IP address. Nothing is sent until you click. The third-party service has its own quota of 5 lookups per day per IP, and its data is for reference only; do not use it as the sole basis for account opening, credit decisions or litigation.
ICP lookups do not store the queried domain in our logs; only anonymous error categories are logged. If you load company information, see the company lookup item above.
