Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-10-09

Overview

This policy explains what data TCPLab ("we", "us") processes when you use the tools at tcp.lc, why we process it, and the choices you have. We keep it deliberately short because we collect very little.

What we do not collect

  • We do not store the content of your queries — the IP addresses, domains and URLs you enter are used only to run the request and are then discarded.
  • We do not keep query history, results, or search logs tied to your identity.
  • We do not sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
  • We do not require an account, and we set no advertising or tracking cookies.

What is processed

  • Request data. Like any web service, our servers transiently process the IP address, user agent and requested URL of each request in order to serve it, protect against abuse and enforce rate limits. Standard access logs are kept for a short period and are not used to profile you.
  • Detection tools. The "China & Global IP Check" and "GFW Check" tools send a request either from your browser (to our China node) or from our servers. The China probe node sees your IP address solely to apply its rate limit; the detected IPs are displayed to you and are not stored.
  • Cookies. We use small functional cookies to remember your language preference (i18n_redirected) and your light/dark theme choice. These are needed for the site to behave as you expect and are not used for tracking.

Third parties

  • Fonts are self-hosted, so your browser does not contact Google or any font CDN.
  • Sponsor links in the sidebar point to third-party sites. Once you follow one, that site's own privacy policy applies.
  • The IP geolocation databases are bundled and queried offline; lookup requests never reach a third-party API.

Data retention

Transient request data is retained for a short operational window for security and rate-limiting purposes, then discarded. We do not maintain long-term logs of tool usage.

Your rights

Because we do not build profiles or store query content, there is little personal data to access or delete. If you have a request relating to data protection, contact us at support@tcp.lc.

Changes

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
