IP Address Lookup
Look up geolocation, ISP and network type for any IP address or domain — domains are resolved first.
Enter an IP address or domain to start
IPv4 and IPv6 literals are supported, as are domains — domains are resolved before the lookup.
Frequently asked questions
Enter an IP address or a domain. The server queries offline databases — ip2region for mainland China IPv4, GeoCN for mainland China IPv6 and MaxMind GeoLite2 for the rest of the world — and returns one unified result. The lookup itself never calls a third-party API.
Geolocation is an estimate: addresses are allocated by ISP and region, mobile traffic shares base-station ranges and CDNs announce the same ranges worldwide, so an exact street address is impossible. Databases are also updated on different schedules, so results may differ from other lookup services.
The domain is resolved first (A and AAAA records, IPv4 preferred), then the lookup runs against the resolved IP. When a domain has several addresses, both the address used for the lookup and the full list are shown.
Private, loopback, link-local and reserved ranges are not part of any public geolocation database, so there is nothing to return. The tool tells you instead of showing empty data.
No. Query contents are never stored. The lookup runs against our own offline databases. Only if you click “More results” does your browser send the queried IP and your own IP directly to ipwho.is and IP.SB — their own privacy policies then apply.
